Westat Administrative Coordinating Center for NHBLI
For the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHBLI), Westat, an employee owned research corporation, is part of a network of researchers involved in a global health initiative to investigate innovative interventions, programs, and measures to prevent or treat noncommunicable cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases (CVPD). The program develops nine research Centers of Excellence (COEs) in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East that carry out research initiatives and train future investigators at the masters, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels.
Westat serves as the administrative coordinating center, providing oversight and support for the network. Han-Zhu Qian, M.D., Ph.D. is contracted by Westat for scientific review of research for the administrative coordinating center.
