Meharry-Vanderbilt Community Engaged Research Core
Monthly Works in Progress Meeting

A participatory process of intervention development in a partnership of researchers at Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University and three community health centers (CHCs) in Nashville, Memphis and Chattanooga will be presented. Findings will be reported from focus groups with African American and Hispanic mothers, fathers and daughters, and interviews with providers from the CHCs and Meharry. The collaborative team is using these findings and input from partners to develop an intervention for healthcare providers to use with patients to encourage receipt of the HPV vaccine in daughters and appropriate cervical cancer screening in mothers and daughters.
